Description
2019 Schionning Arrow 1200 | Tetra
A fast and light performance cruising catamaran, Tetra is equipped with a carbon fiber rotating wing mast, boom, front beam and daggerboards, to produce an especially light and strong version of Jeff Shionning’s Arrow 1200 design.
Accommodation includes two queen cabins aft and a single berth in the starboard bow. The spacious head has a separate shower and full-size electric toilet. Three large drop-down windows and a sliding door in the saloon create excellent airflow and keep the boat cool in even the slightest breeze.
With a light hull, generous sail area and large bowsprit, Tetra is perfectly suited for the light winds of Southeast Asia, and keeps sailing long after others are forced to start their engines. The dual helm positions provide great visibility and protection, and a smart deck layout means she’s a joy to sail, even single-handed.
The twin 30hp Yanmar diesel engines, with shaft drives and 3-blade folding propellers, have only done 70 hours!
Drawing just 1.2m with daggerboards up, Tetra is able to navigate shallow waters with ease. Lowering the daggerboards to their full 2.2m depth enables exceptional pointing ability when sailing upwind.
Off-grid living is easily achievable with 1000W of solar, 520Ah of lithium batteries, a 53 l/hr watermaker, and enough diesel storage for a 600+ nautical mile range using both engines at cruising speed. Both induction and gas cooking options are available.
Originally launched in 2019, shortly before COVID-19, Tetra spent her first couple years on a hardstand being well maintained by her original owner. Relaunched in late 2022 with a new owner, she received significant upgrades and a good shakedown before going back on the market six months later.
As a result, Tetra presents in near-new condition, with very low engine hours and only a few months of real use, she is ready for a new owner to finally unlock her full potential as a high-performance cruising catamaran.
Tetra was recently hauled out and received fresh anti-fouling, fresh anti-skid deck paint, an exterior polish, full service of the props/shafts, new anodes and engines serviced, so she is ready to set sail immediately.
