Description
This Tim Jackett design is the epitome of a performance cruiser. Fast and sea kindly, she draws the gaze of all that see her. Her modern underbody and sleek lines deliver excellent control on all points of sail. This 1999 Tartan 3800 is hull #42 and, as one of the last 3800's built, includes Majestic Blue topsides, a highlighted white cove stripe, and beautifully varnished teak toe rails. The wide side decks and the secure cockpit make her a wonderful ride. The deep protected cockpit has a full T-shaped helm station, so access to and from it is convenient. This design, simply, does the important things well. It is comfortable to work or relax aboard, and the boat’s profile will please the eye as much in ten years as it does today.
When you step below, the rich, wonderful hand rubbed cherry interior and teak and holly sole remind you that you are on a Tartan. The joinery is second to none. The Tartan 3800 has two staterooms with double bunks, along with a convertible double salon bunk and a salon single. The head has a separate stall shower and vanity/shaving mirror. The galley will be the envy of the dock, with a large top and front access refrigerator, ample counter space and louvered locker storage. Lots of stainless-steel ports and hatches provide ample ventilation.
As with most, if not all, of Tim Jackett’s designs, the Tartan 3800 has won many awards, including Cruising World's Boat of the Year contest in 1992. With only 44 hulls built, it is a rear opportunity when one of these beautiful boats comes on the market. RENDEZVOUS has been maintained by professionals throughout her life and her condition is impeccable. She is probably the cleanest & best maintained Tartan 3800 on the market today!

ACCOMMODATIONS
Master stateroom: Entry to the forward stateroom is through a bi-fold door; a cedar lined hanging locker is to port with double doors. Headroom in here is 6’4”. The berth is low enough to sit on and is 76” long, 24” at the foot, and 77” wide at the head of the bed. Six cherry front drawers are below the berth. On starboard is a dressing seat, which has storage beneath it, and a small countertop and sink. Along the hull above that are two lockers and a fiddled shelf, with more shelf space above them. A large overhead hatch is above the berth; a nice sized opening window provides great airflow from this can to the salon, with a bifold louvered panel that can close it off for privacy.
Saloon: Moving aft into the salon, there is a straight settee on port. An offset centerline cherry drop-leaf table has storage beneath the top and a pair of drawers on the aft end. The angled U-shape settee on starboard can convert to a 6’5” by 42” wide berth when desired, utilizing one of the table leaves as a leeboard. Both settees have two lockers and fiddled shelf spaces above and outboard of them. Headroom here is 6’3”.
Nav station: Located at the base of the companionway on port, the nav station is forward facing. The upholstered seat and seat back make your time there comfortable. There is storage beneath the seat and shelf space outboard along the hull. The nav table has plenty of space for chart books or a paper chart, great storage beneath the lid and drawer storage beneath that. Above the tabletop is mounting space for electronics; along the hull are the electrical panels and mounting space for more equipment. Both surfaces have hinged panels that can be opened for easy access to the back side of componentry. Headroom at the nav station is 6’3”.
Head: The head is on port aft of the nav station and has 6’2” headroom. It is a fiberglass construction with cherry fiddles and cabinetry, making for easy wipe downs. Upon entering the space, the head is immediately to your right followed by the sink. There is a locker behind the head and another above it, while the sink has a locker below it and a mirrored door medicine cabinet above it. The sink and countertop are both fiberglass and one-piece construction.
The separate shower stall is behind that, with an acrylic bi-fold door separating the spaces when you shower. There is a fiberglass seat with lockers below, behind and above it. There is a wet hanging space behind that that also drains into the shower sump. The entire space is ventilated with an opening port and hatch, with additional lighting provided by two overhead lights.
Galley: The L-shaped galley is located at the base of the companionway on starboard. The large, deep sink is oriented toward centerline and has storage beneath it. To the right of that is a refrigerated ice box, with top and front-loading access. Moving around along the hull is the three burner, gimballed stove with oven and broiler. There is storage space beneath the stove. To the right of the stove is a tip-out locker, with a drawer above it. The countertop are all Granicote with cherry fiddles. Along the hull and above the counters and stove are a pair of drawers, one single door locker and one double door locker. Headroom in here is 6’3”
Aft stateroom: The aft stateroom is located on starboard and behind the galley. As you enter, there is a cedar lined hanging locker, followed by a lower locker with shelves. Both lockers have fiddled shelves above them. Along the hull going aft are padded backrests, which works nicely for sitting up and reading or relaxing. A small fiberglass shelf runs the length aft along the hull and has a cherry fiddle along it. The berth itself is 77” deep, 40” wide at the feet and 66” wide at the shoulders. The cabin is bright and well ventilated, with a reading light, fan, one overhead hatch and three opening ports. Headroom in here is 6’2”.
