Description

The Catalina 385 is the third design from Gerry Douglas in what has become known as the "5 Series". The Catalina 385, as with all the 5 Series yachts, evolved by taking advantage of many of the proven details included with their larger models from the recent past. However, there were many innovations that defined all the 5 Series Catalina yachts, some of which are:

  • “Strike Zone” watertight collision bulkhead
  • Dedicated 5th part structural grid
  • “Deep Defense” rudder system
  • T-Beam mast step system
  • “SecureSocket” chain plate system
  • Teak interiors
  • Lead keels

The 385’s moderate beam is carried well aft providing a spacious comfortable cockpit, her modest freeboard reduces windage and a beautiful hand-finished teak interior brings it all home with classic warmth and styling. Gerry Douglas's design abilities really shine in this model. Lead keels, long travelers for precise sail control, and lengthy inboard genoa tracks so the sail plan is balanced in all wind conditions are just a few of the many design features that sets the Catalina 385 apart from other yachts- so much so that the Catalina 385 was voted Cruising World magazine’s “Domestic Boat of the Year” in 2012.

Our offering, “ROUBAIX”, is an excellent example of this award-winning design. With countless features often found on much larger boats, including safety, creature comfort and sailing ability, the Catalina 5 Series models are heads and shoulders above the competition. A few of the notable features that make “ROUBAIX” stand out amongst it’s competitors are:

  • VERY clean and well equipped!
  • Low engine hours- only 646!
  • Bow thruster
  • Rub rail with stainless steel cap
  • Radar
  • Furling mainsail and Genoa
  • Folding leather wrapped wheel
  • Air conditioning and heat
  • Ultraleather interior
  • Innerspring mattresses
  • Fusion sound system with Bose speakers

Clean, well-maintained boats like this don’t stick around for long. Contact us today to inspect this fine quality sailing yacht!

    Accommodations / Walk-thru

Master stateroom: The forward stateroom has a centerline queen berth, with a head of the bed that can be raised electronically to provide comfort while reading. Along either side above the berth are drop-front lockers and teak staving along the hull; beneath are three drawers and a locker with shelves.

On the port side is a seat with storage beneath it, a vanity table and mirror. On starboard is a locker with shelves and a fiddled shelf above it and a locker below.

There is a private entrance to the head. Lighting and ventilation are from an overhead hatch, two opening ports, three reading lights and a fan. Headroom in here is 6’ 5”.

Head: The head is located on port and has 6’ 7” headroom. There is dual entry from the forward stateroom and the salon. Entering from the salon, the unique glass bowl sink and counter space are to your left, with locker storage beneath it and a mirrored medicine cabinet above. To the right along the hull is the toilet. The separate shower area has a wrap around shower curtain, a seating area and cubbies along the hull. The space has an overhead hatch and opening port for ventilation. Additional lighting comes from one overhead light and a pair of reading lights.

Saloon: Across from the head on starboard is a cedar lined hanging locker and a stack of drawers, with fiddled shelf space above both. Aft of that is a pair of seat with a table between them- great for games, dinner space for two or kids seating. The center table can drop down to form a 6’2” long settee. There is drawer storage beneath the forward seat and the table and storage behind them as well.

Across on port is an L-shaped dinette, with an adjustable height 4-leaf folding table. The table can serve as a café table when folded or a dining table when opened up. It also drops down and can convert to a nice 6' 6" long double berth. The aft end of the L serves as the seat for the nav station and there is storage beneath and behind the seat.

Both seating areas have shelf space behind them, teak hullside staving and under cabinet strip LED lighting that provides a nice, soft accent to the space. Cabinetry above on starboard are three drop-front door lockers, with a fiddled bookshelf and fixed hullside port centered over the seating area. A matching fiddled bookshelf and fixed hullside port is above the seating on port.

Headroom in the salon and nav area is 6’ 7”. There are four fixed lights in the housetops, two hatches and two opening ports.

Nav station:  The nav station is on port and utilizes the aft end of the settee for the seat. The chart table has plenty of storage for chart books inside it. Above it along the hull there are two drop-door lockers with electrical gear inside.

Galley: The C-shaped galley is located on starboard at the base of the companionway, with the sinks oriented toward centerline. The double stainless-steel sinks have drawer storage on center, with a large locker beneath the sinks. Outboard of the sinks is a top-loading dry bin storage space. Headroom in here is 6’ 5”.

Aft stateroom: Entry to the aft stateroom is on port; the headroom here is 6’. As you enter the space there is a double cedar lined hanging locker to the right, with a changing seat and storage under it. The 6’ x 6’ 6” mattress is oriented athwartship and has a padded backrest for sitting up in bed. There is a fiddled shelf on top of the engine box, as well as shelf space behind the headboard. Lighting and ventilation are from an overhead hatch to the cockpit, one hull side fixed port, one opening port, a fan, an overhead light and a pair of reading lights.
