Accomodations

Aurora has reverse cycle marine AC, Heat, Dehumidify. All ports are opening and constructed with safety glass and polished SS frames. Her interior cushions are 5 inch foam.

The master suite is forward and includes a large V-berth with plenty of storage underneath, a cedar-lined hanging locker to starboard and a private door to the head.

The head is to port and just aft of the forward suite and features a separate shower stall with a teak seat, an S-shaped vanity with SS sink and a Raritan commode. There is a private door to the forward suite and an additional door that leads to the salon. A cedar-lined locker is to starboard of the head.

The spacious salon has a bulkhead mounted table that can be quickly deployed when needed and can be expanded to double the size when guests are aboard. When not in use, the table is stowed on the bulkhead which lends a feeling of openness. There is a built-in wine/stowage rack on the bulkhead behind the table. Both settees double as excellent sea berths. There is easy-access stowage below and behind both settees. The back cushions on both settees are attached to a solid base which makes it less tedious to access the storage behind. There is a chart stowage drawer under the starboard settee. When necessary, the port settee expands to a large double berth.

The spacious guest stateroom has a double berth, space for changing clothes, stowage and hanging locker and an upholstered seat for dressing convenience.

There is 3-way access to the engine room via hinged panels in the galley and the aft stateroom as well as a removable front panel. This provides good all-around easy access to the engine for maintenance.

Galley

Island Packet designs a superb galley and Aurora’s no exception. She has excellent dish, silverware and cutlery stowage, which Island Packets are known for. The galley is spacious, yet secure.

  • Gimballed 3 burner propane stove with oven
  • Huge top loading, energy efficient 12v Adler Barber fridge and freezer
  • Polished SS double sink with separate sprayer and hand pump
  • Dedicated trash bin
  • Plenty of cabinets and lots of counter top area—including an additional small flip-up table when needed

The galley sole is molded fiberglass and slip resistant with a drainage grating and sump just forward of the companionway ladder. This is beneficial when coming in for a snack after swimming or when the watch person comes below in wet foulies. The remainder of the cabins have teak and holly sole.
