Description

“Scallywag II” is a 1981 Marine Trader 34 Double Cabin that blends classic trawler styling with practical, long-range cruising features. Built in Taiwan by CHB Marine and imported by Marine Trading International, this model earned its reputation as one of the most popular compact trawlers ever built in North America. Her semi-displacement hull and fuel-efficient Ford Lehman engine offer relaxed cruising at just a couple gallons per hour—ideal for extended trips or economical live-aboard life.

A well-traveled vessel with serious cruising credentials, "Scallywag II" has completed the Great Loop and is currently owned by a former Naval Officer. That experience shows in her thoughtful upkeep and readiness for adventure. She features a spacious two-cabin, two-head layout—perfect for guests, family, or even a shared ownership arrangement. The large aft stateroom and forward berth are both private and well-ventilated, while the galley and salon deliver all the comforts of home. You’ll enjoy cooking with a 3-burner stove, BBQ, fridge/freezer, and oven. Air conditioning, upgraded hot water system, and updated lighting make this trawler surprisingly modern for her vintage.

On deck, "Scallywag II" is fully outfitted for comfort and safety: custom winter cover, full flybridge enclosure, bow and stern anchors, a robust windlass, and rigid davits for a dinghy. She's easy to handle with a Vetus bow thruster and well-equipped helm electronics, including autopilot, radar, chart-plotter, and more. With many recent upgrades and a layout rarely matched in boats her size, "Scallywag II" is a standout opportunity for serious cruisers or first-time trawler owners alike.
