Manufacturer Description
Small convertibles are always a tough sell, while the versatility of a flybridge is hard to ignore, the upper helm position means the captain is nearly always separated from the rest of the crew while underway. The appeal of the Silverton 31 Convertible lies in her space-efficient layout and affordable price. Only a few manufacturers have produced convertibles this small in recent years, and none enjoyed greater success in that limited market than the Silverton 31. Built on a solid fiberglass hull, a wide 11'11" beam gave Silverton designers a lot of space to work with. Entering through a sliding glass door in the cockpit, the galley-down interior features a roomy salon with foldout sofa, sliding cabin windows, and optional lower helm. A small counter overlooks the galley with two-burner stove, storage cabinets, and under-counter refrigerator. The head/shower is to starboard, and V-berths are forward in the private stateroom. With just over 80 square feet of usable space, the cockpit is big for a boat this size. Two hatches in the cockpit sole provide access to the engines, and a six-step ladder leads up to a small flybridge. Crusader 270hp V-drive gas inboards cruise the Silverton 31 at 16-18 knots (tops at mid 20's)
