Vessel Details

Casco Bay 31

"Eastern’s 31' Casco Bay runs on a thoroughbred Downeast hull from famed designer Royal Lowell. Her graceful sheer, flared bow, clipper stem, and full keel have given her legendary seaworthiness. Unlike most of Lowell’s hulls, though, our 31' has hard chines, giving her excellent speed, efficiency, and stability both underway and at rest. With a modern 370-400-hp diesel, she will cruise comfortably at 16-18 knots even in rough seas, while her classic flare and forward spray rail keep her windshield dry.

Over 450 of these 31′ hulls are running on all three coasts and the Great Lakes today. Some are fishing commercially, many are carrying fishing charters or hard-core recreational anglers, and more are cruising with their families. These include basic work boats, a Coast-Guard- certified passenger vessel, a state of-the-art sport fisherman, or a comfortable cruising yacht. Accommodations below include a roomy forward V-berth, an enclosed head with shower, and a hanging locker." ~ Eastern Boats

Construction

"The hull is hand laminated foam cored fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) sandwich construction with solid laminate along the chines and down the centerline with a solid FRP skeg keel molded in two pieces and bonded. The deck and superstructure are constructed of foam cored hand laminated sandwich FRP. The hull to deck joint is shoebox type overlapping flange, glassed together. The hull is protected by a heavy duty PVC rub rail. This is very strong construction in very good condition.  This boat is very well built and well suited to its intended purpose of coastal cruising" ~ 2020 survey by Jeffrey P. Gonsalves, AMS
