Interior Layout and Accommodations
One enters the interior space from the pilot house area by way of the raised panel companionway door.
There is a solid wood companionway hatch for security when the boat is left unattended but when aboard this hatch can be replaced with another hatch fitted with screens to allow for outside air to enter the interior space and keeping the mosquitos out where they belong.
The interior space is low “stooping” headroom but high enough to move about the space without undue effort.
There is a basic galley area to port with sink basin, manual water supply and insulated ice box.
Opposite the galley is an enclosed / private head space and forward of the head an open storage space that could easily be used as a hanging locker.
Next forward are two (2) settees / bunks port and starboard and forward of these is access to the forepeak / ground tackle storage area.
There is plenty of storage in lockers outboard and under counters in the galley and head areas and additional storage in bins under the settee / berths.
Additional storage is offered by shelf space located above and outboard of the settee / berths.
Natural light and ventilation is provided by the previously mentioned screened companionway hatch, an overhead opening hatch in the house top and by four (4) bronze opening ports in the house sides.
Artificial light is provided by a single overhead dome light and three (3) well positioned brass reading lights.
To help reflect both natural and artificial light much of the interior joinery, furniture and bulkheads are painted White and the hull interior is sheathed with varnished Fir battens that also helping to reflect the available light.
Bunk fiddles are painted white which contrasts nicely with the settee / bunk cushions and the vertically-staved, tongue and groove, varnished Fir bunk fronts.
Cabin soles are painted Gray.
