If you’re serious about racing sailboats, you know the Mumm 30. The Bruce Farr designed Mumm 30 is generally thought to be one of the best 30 foot race boats ever designed. With a carbon fiber mast, oversized mainsail, and massive cockpit, the boat handles like a dingy, yet cuts through the waves like an Open 60. Still, the Farr 30 is a relatively simple boat: no overlapping jibs; no runners; and no checkstays.
