The Monterey 280 SCR (called the 280 Sport Yacht in 2013–14 and 295 Sport Yacht since 2015) is a popular coastal cruiser from a company known for producing a solid, value-priced product. With a wide 9'2" beam, the 280 SCR has the cockpit and cabin space required to entertain the entire family. The layout is similar to most cruisers her size—wraparound cockpit seating for six or eight, generous swim platform, and a midcabin interior with convertible dinette, small galley, and standup head with shower. Numerous cockpit storage areas assure that everything finds a place, and wide molded steps in the cabin door allow safe access to the bow which came standard with a sun lounge. The cockpit has a wet bar, double helm seat, and engine access under the aft seating while the helm area features easy-to-read gauges and tilt steering.
