    ACCOMMODATIONS

FORMOSA has owner and guest accommodation for thirteen in the following staterooms:

Owner’s apartment on the upper deck forward has an entrance through a study/office, a walk-in dressing room with vanity, a large en suite bathroom with tub and separate shower, his and her washbasins and Toto WC in a separate room and the master suite with forward facing bed, 180° panoramic windows and two doors out.

Two VIP staterooms are on the main deck forward, each with en suite bathrooms with tubs, showers and his and her washbasins.

Two queen size staterooms are on the lower deck, each with sofas and en suite bathrooms with stall showers, as well as a twin stateroom with Pullman berth and en suite bathroom with shower.

An elevator services all deck levels from the lower deck to the upper bridge/sundeck.

There is accommodation for 15 crew in 9 crew cabins.

    Top deck:

The panoramic top deck with amazing view forward and aft has a skylight in the teak deck lighting the elevator and central staircase below. There is loose furniture designed by Paola Lenti (2 years old). A portable projector and screen can be set up on this deck. On the port side a circular staircase leads down to the bridge/sundeck.

    Bridge/Sun Deck:

The spacious wheelhouse has two comfortable helm chairs ahead of a central chart table with electrical panels aft; the ship’s office is starboard aft and access to the pantry with dumbwaiter is on the port side aft. The circular glass elevator is positioned in the central staircase. On the portside there is a pantry for ease of service to the sundeck and an officer’s single cabin with en suite is aft. The Captain’s cabin is to starboard with en suite and good hanging lockers. A guest day head services the sundeck area. A bar and Teppanyaki grill and storage for the waterslide are on the sundeck starboard side. Glass windows on each side act as windbreakers. A large whirlpool for 12 people is on the centerline and a comfortable sundeck lounging area with chaise lounges is aft. Paola Lenti furniture, portable gym equipment and a 2025 Peloton bike complete this area. This area is also strengthened for a helicopter landing pad for an EC 130 or similar weight helicopter although it has never been used and is more for emergency ‘touch and go’ so a buyer is advised to check all weight limits before use and neither seller nor brokers make any representations as to this feature.

    Upper/Owner’s deck:

The hydraulic hatch for the rescue boat is on the foredeck. A sheltered panoramic owner’s lounging area is forward outside the owner’s suite. Inside, the king size berth faces forward with walkarounds on either side into the walk-in dressing room and closet area which has a vanity on the port side. The owner’s bathroom is aft to port with a bathtub, separate shower, WC room and his and her washbasins. The owner’s study/office is aft to starboard separated by sliding doors from the central staircase and elevator. A Toto day head is in the foyer lobby. A good-sized pantry is to port with access on either port or starboard side to the sky lounge and cinema. The forward bulkhead doubles as a cinema screen and there is also a big TV screen that folds down over the cinema screen. A U-shaped sofa and low tables make for a comfortable lounging area and there is a games table in the aft port corner. Double sliding doors open onto the dining deck which has a circular teak table surrounded by twelve teak dining chairs. There is built in seating aft and a circular staircase down to the main deck aft.

    Main deck:

Two wave runners and the anchoring equipment are on the bow. A bosun’s locker with extensive storage is aft with the emergency generator on the port side. The SOLAS rescue boat and crane are in the forward tender garage and there is a technical room further aft.

Forward on the main deck are two VIP staterooms, each with an en suite bathroom with bathtubs, separate stall showers, his and her washbasins and WC’s. Queen berths are athwartships facing large windows port and starboard. There is a private TV salon for the VIP staterooms on the starboard side. The galley is on the main deck to port, with a pantry further aft for service. A day head is adjacent to the circular staircase and elevator in the foyer which opens onto to the dining room aft with excellent storage. A central island separates the dining area and the main salon. The main salon is furnished with U shaped seating split on the centerline to allow access to the aft deck which has a delightful seating area also. The passarelle is on the port side and a starboard side staircase leads down to the garage and swimming platform.

    Lower deck:

Seven cabins with accommodation for thirteen crew are on the lower deck forward. The first officer’s cabin and captain’s cabin are on the bridge deck for a total of fifteen crew. The crew mess and crew pantry/galley are to port with access down to the tank deck opposite.

There are three guest staterooms on the lower deck. A twin berth stateroom with Pullman upper berth and en suite bathroom with shower is forward portside. Further aft are two identical double guest suites, each with queen berths, two place sofas with coffee tables and en suite bathrooms with stall showers.

The engine room is further aft with ECR on the centerline.

The garage is further aft and was originally designed to carry two tenders (a limousine and a RIB), plus two wave runners. The garage now carries a 5.6m (18.6’) diesel powered RIB tender set on skids for launching plus a Seadoo RXP RS and a Yamaha standup Superjet jet ski. Dive equipment and miscellaneous water toys (see list below) are also stowed in the garage.

Two Seadoo 300 GTX wave runners are stored forward on the bow and launched with the forward mast crane.

A spacious fold-down swim platform is a great area for massages or an excellent staging area for water sports.

    Under deck/tank deck:

The hi fog sprinkler station and technical spaces are forward, there are large deep freezer and refrigeration rooms, dry storage area, in addition to a workshop area with a lathe to port and the laundry to starboard.

    MAIN MACHINERY

Primary access to the main machinery spaces is via the lower (tank) deck tunnel and a watertight door at the forward end of the engine room. An alternative entry is from the garage. The engine control room has good sound insulation and air conditioning. Clear windows look into the engine room. The ECR contains the main switchboard and distribution panels as well as local engine controls and an Electromar control screen. A PC is provided for maintenance and stores activities. The engine room is well laid out, with good access. It is adequately lit and ventilated and with appropriate safety protection in place.

There are two turbo charged and aftercooled MTU 12V 4000 M53 diesel engines, each rated 1,380kW at 1,800rpm. The engines are connected to independent ZF hydraulic gearboxes and from there to propellers via a shaft fitted with shaft brake and mechanical type shaft seal. Shafts are in Rubber Design oil baths. Engines have been regularly maintained at manufacturers recommended intervals by the MTU trained chief engineer and engineering crew thereby maintaining the engine warranty (an extendable MTU Penske warranty is in place up to Sept 2025). The gearboxes had 4000 hours service in March 2024. The main engine exhausts insulation was renewed in 2022. In March 2025 the shafts were disassembled, the oil changed, all seals and bearings replaced and clearances checked as a part of the 10 year survey carried out at Derecktor, Ft Pierce, FL. The engine exhaust exits below the waterline are fitted with auto closing valves set at 1,000rpm and are fitted with above water line exhaust back pressure reducing lines.

    Main Engines note:

As of April 2025, there are approx. 11,000 hours on both main engines, so approximately 1,000 hours per year of use, which is standard for a yacht cruising around the world. As a part of her class survey, a boroscope of every cylinder was carried out in March 2025 along with all injectors changed. The next major service, known as a QL3, (previously an MTU W5) is due at 13,500 hours.
