OVERVIEW
HELIOS 3 was completed in 2012 and purchased in 2015 by her current owner who immediately sent her to Delta, the original builder in Seattle, Washington for an extension and refit which took until January 2017 to complete. No other shipyard in the world could be trusted to do such an extensive job, in GRP, at any cost and certainly not in keeping with the quality that Delta always builds to. During this 18-month process, HELIOS 3 hull was lengthened by approximately 13 feet (4m), her bridge deck was lengthened by approximately 8 feet (2.5m) and every inch from her bilge to her mast was renewed, replaced, rebuilt or refitted. The extension itself cost well in excess of $12 million and the total refit cost was in excess of $17 million. At today’s prices, to replicate her extension and refit, we expect the extension might cost well in excess of $20 million and the total refit cost to be well over $25 million. Now, after world-wide cruising including multiple trans- Atlantic and trans-Pacific crossings, HELIOS 3 has proven herself as an amazing “go anywhere at any time” cruising yacht and her near perfect condition means she is literally ready to go anywhere at a moment’s notice. Her storage capacities are truly amazing, from her stand up bilges to vast refrigeration capacities. Her fiberglass construction is very heavy in a solid layup for her hull with a composite superstructure so long-term paint maintenance is minimized. Only on your close inspection will it be evident what pedigree, build quality, proper maintenance and stable long-term crew mean.

ACCOMMODATIONS
OVERVIEW
HELIOS 3 accommodates 16 guests in seven staterooms. With an owner’s stateroom and a twin berth guest stateroom located on the bridge deck, four lower deck guest staterooms, three of which are queen staterooms and the fourth, a twin stateroom (with additional pullman berth) conveniently converts to a king stateroom. There is also a triple berth children’s stateroom on the main deck forward on the port side. All have en suite bathrooms.
GENERAL ARRANGEMENT: please refer to the GA drawing to follow the description below
Sun Deck
There is a horseshoe shaped bar to port looking fore and aft around the elevator casing with the elevator opening to starboard adjacent a built-in seating area with easy chairs. An electric hatch forward gives access to the internal staircase all the way down to the lower deck. There is a teak dining table under the hardtop, there are TVs on both the forward and portside bulkhead, and a day bathroom with a shower to port. A large whirlpool tub is further aft on the centerline with seating around. There are chaise lounges aft on the sundeck and a Nautical Structures crane for launching a RIB tender or water toys if stored in this area. A circular staircase goes down on the starboard side to the aft owner’s deck.
Bridge Deck
Foredeck carries 2 x wave runners and 2 x stand-up jet skis, all launched by a Nautical Structures crane. The bosun’s locker is huge with full headroom and generous storage capacity. A Portuguese bridge is in front of the wheelhouse. The bridge has a guest viewing gallery with raised settees and tables for the owner and two helm chairs for crew. The ships office is aft to port ahead of the captain’s cabin with island queen berth and en suite bathroom. The foyer and central staircase are to starboard with the day head outboard. The elevator comes out in the aft foyer just ahead of the entrance to the bridge deck twin guest stateroom with en suite with tub/shower, with the expansive owner’s office opposite to starboard. Further aft into the owner’s foyer with walk-in closet outboard and bathroom with oversized shower and separate bathtub, his and her sinks, two toilet rooms (one with bidet) and a large walk-in centerline closet inboard. The master stateroom is full width for privacy with settee to port, vanity to starboard and aft facing king berth. There is access out a single inconspicuous door to the owner’s aft deck with couches and tables, round daybed, a small dining or games table to starboard and a bar to port. There is circular staircase access to the sundeck or down to the aft deck.
Main Deck
All the way forward to port is a children/guide/pilot/instructor/teacher stateroom with twin lower and single upper bunk berths and a bathroom with shower just outside the door, shared also with the gym. The gym is large with great windows and plenty of usable space and equipment. Opposite to starboard is a media room with 65” curved TV, games and built in wine cooler. A little aft is a computer workstation area for guests with two monitors, desks and mini bar. The day head is further aft ahead of the main deck lobby with staircase and elevator access.
The main deck galley is well sized and to port, with crew mess and walk in fridge and freezers just ahead. The galley has extensive granite topped U shaped counters, pantry service aft and a door into the elevator for easy food service to every deck.
The dining room further aft features a solid slab table with natural, unfinished edges seating twelve and plenty of china, glassware and service ware stored in the surrounding cabinetry.
The main salon is further aft with easy chairs and couches around the centerline coffee table, a games table aft to port and a standup bar to starboard.
The main deck aft is where the hull extension is most noticeable. It is an amazing aft deck with love seats nestled in an area to starboard, buffet tables either side, sliding glass windows for wind protection and a teak dining table seating sixteen guests aft. There is a bar forward and double sliding doors to the main salon.
There is passarelle access to starboard and port side staircase access down to the swim platform.
Lower Deck
There are five double crew cabins forward and a double engineer’s cabin aft for a total of 14 crew including double captain’s cabin on the bridge. The commercial style laundry is to port and there is “secret” crew access to the lower deck guest staterooms for servicing. Please note the air-conditioned standup storage areas under the crew’s quarters, complementing the vast storage capacities elsewhere.
There are four guest staterooms on the lower deck. Forward to starboard is a twin berth stateroom #1 that can convert to a king berth stateroom, and it also has a pullman berth for versatility. Opposite is guest stateroom #2 with centerline queen. These staterooms have en suites with showers.
Guest staterooms #3 and #4 are further aft with centerline queens and bathrooms with tub/showers.
The engine room is further aft with control room aft to port ahead of the twin berth engineer’s cabin with en suite bathroom with shower.
The 19’ Novurania Chase diesel RIB tender sits in a center line garage. The lazarette is to starboard with dive locker and dive room aft to port. Aft of the tender is the beach club area that sets up nicely with teak tables and chairs. The transom door is above offering some shade to the large swim platform when it is open.
