Designer: William Tripp, Jr.
Builder: Amsterdam Shipyard (Hull #178)
2003- present by present owner
Restoration began in 2003 inside my heated boat barn, stripping out all old plumbing, wiring, old Atomic 4 engine, and exterior woodwork. The interior cabinetry was in excellent shape and only needed a fresh coat of hand-rubbed varnish. Keel bolts were inspected and found to be in excellent shape. Hull was sent to Bristol, RI for cosmetic fiberglass and epoxy work by Guck Inc. Four opening Spartan ports were installed in the main cabin, Awlgrip painting of topsides, deck and non-skids, and cabin tops and sides. Returning to the boat barn, new mahogany toe rails, grab rails, hatches, eyebrows, and cockpit combings were installed and varnished. Custom designed and cast bronze mid-ship cleats and bow roller were installed. New Lewmar #30 self-tailing sheet winches were installed as well as refurbished windlass and original deck hardware and stanchions with G-10 backing plates.
In the interior, new wiring in conduits, new lights with red/white bulbs, and new custom electric panel by Oceans Pursuits were installed. New Groco thru-hulls, hoses, pex hot and cold water lines, stainless marine hot water heater by Isotemp, pressure pump, and manifold for auxiliary foot pump operation were also added. New stainless bow tank added and keel tank was refurbished with two-part potable coating. Holding tank and pump were added to the head. Sea Frost refrigeration added to the refurbished reefer. New countertops and sink added to the galley. Cozy Cabin heater and propane grill with new distribution manifold and horizontal propane tanks in aft locker were added.
New Westerbeke 3-cylinder 27 hp diesel and custom properly installed muffler were installed. New Doyle loose-footed main with three reefing points was purchased, as well as 100% jib and asymmetrical spinnaker in 2004. New standing rigging and life lines in 2012. New Regatta Braid mainsheet and blocks in 2013. New digital radar by Raymarine in 2014. Harken roller-furling/reefing 120% jib by Maine Sailing Partners. New Dickerson 2-burner galley stove in 2020 and new dodger by Shoals Canvas in 2015.
